Bycroft Consulting Ltd have been part of a very exciting development at BarrowHill commercial centre Chesterfield. The Derbyshire Rail Industry Innovation Vehicle (Towns Fund) has invested \u00a35.9 million in an innovation centre where universities & rail companies can train\/test and manufacture in bespoke surroundings.<\/p>\n

BCL were initially tasked with the removal and storage of rail components while the building was erected. Once this was completed, we returned and built two tracks leading into the building with direct fasten lindaptor fasteners holding the tracks to gauge running over two inspection pits and up to the training\/office area. We also installed a 27m access track at the rear of the building to allow delivery of rail axles etc. Once completed the floor was concreted up to the rail head.<\/p>\n

To complete our works for the Driive Initiative we were tasked with completing 3 footpaths. We installed 3 new footpaths measuring 26m long and 60cm wide, using compacted type 1 stone with a vibrating plate to create a safe, solid, and comfortable walkway underfoot. A connecting footpath was also installed across the 2 rails, linking all 3 paths together using durable non-slip geo grids.<\/p>\n
