Another part of the works in the North East

S&C stripped and moved

All done!

Bycroft Consulting Ltd were approached recently by a heritage rail museum in the North East to look at an issue they had with the position of a turnout. The S&C was located alongside their platform so consequently when carriages were standing along the platform edge the loop line became unusable. We were asked to lift the S&C out and move it away from the platform thus enabling the look to be used at the same time as the platform line. The work required quite a bit of head scratching, but BCL is pleased to say that it completed the work within the week, meeting the client’s requirement to open the track for the bank holiday weekend. Another great effort from all concerned. Well done to the BCL team, especially our supervisor Alan.

Latest News 18th April 2023

Recent programmed works for our client in London saw a section of track which had severe timber deterioration and a redundant turnout being removed. The section was then plain lined with new hardwood sleepers and BH rail. At the same time a heavily worn crossing nose was replaced on a nearby turnout. The work was undertaken over the Easter weekend and was completed on time ready for trains post-holiday.

Another fine example of proactive works completed by the Bycroft Consulting team to the satisfaction of the client. Outstanding effort from all involved including our BCL machine operator, well done Prem, great work.

When establishing Bycroft Consulting co-directors Karen Foster and Chris Bycroft set out a principal about which the company would be managed.

We are proud to say that our reputation is reaching the far corners of the British Isles and we are extremely excited to announce that we have a new client in the far north of Scotland. We have just completed our first major maintenance job on their infrastructure.

This was an urgent sleeper renewal project replacing decaying sleepers on their reception road. Our team undertook the work under the most stringent of H & S rules. The works were completed on time and to budget. Feedback from the client’s line manager was extremely positive.
